Liner

M1 helmet painted in the colors of a "Engineer Special Brigade" captain and distressed for an authentic, worn-in look.

Shell

US WW2 infantry M1 helmet shell reproduction based on an original Austrian steel helmet shell and produced between 1975 and 1990. It features a rear rim seam and swivel loops. The helmet is equipped with reproduction chinstraps. It has been sanded and repainted in Olive Drab 7, a color used by the American army between 1936 and 1944. The shell has a granular coating thanks to the addition of cork during the painting process.

Replica Liner

This is a modern plastic reproduction of the M1-style helmet liner, closely resembling the US M1 helmet. It comes equipped with a sweatband, front grommet, and a brown faux leather chinstrap, just like the original.

Fiber Liner

This surplus liner for the M1 helmet is made of compressed fiber built for the Belgian army (ABL). It includes a headband, or sweat-band, as well as a brown leather chin strap and neck band. Additionally, it features the characteristic front eyelet found on American liners.

Keep in mind

All of our helmet shells are made of steel and are surplus military equipment. Some are over 50 years old. They may show signs of use and aging due to storage. Although they are repainted and refurbished, some evidence of their past use remains visible.

The liner is one size fits all, but can be adjusted in depth and head circumference.

"Battle Battered" ESB Captain

The 6th Engineer Special Brigade was formed from the HHC, 1116th Engineer Combat Group on May 15, 1944, in England. The brigade participated in the invasion of Normandy (Omaha Beach) and remained there until Christmas Eve 1944. The 6th ESB moved to France on New Year's Day 1945 and remained there until redeploying to the United States on July 14, 1945. The brigade arrived in the United States on July 23, 1945, and was inactivated at Camp Gordon Johnston on October 20 of that year.

    The paint used on this Battle Battered version is the same as our other helmets. It's an Olive Drab color used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944. The medical markings are also weathered to match the rest of the helmet.

    The M1 infantry ESB helmet shell was coated with a cork texture that served both practical and aesthetic purposes. The texture broke up the soldier's silhouette and reduced sun glare, providing camouflage and protection. The cork is applied with the paint, making it an integral part of the helmet's design.

    The M1 helmet's ESB chinstrap is a replica created by Mon Casque M1, featuring a woven strap that accurately resembles the original. Although the metal buckles used in the chinstrap were produced after the war, they still provide a secure fastening to the helmet and contribute to its durability.
