Original US M1 helmet chinstrap buckle. Flat model in blackened brass, it attaches to the hook of the US M1 heavy helmet chinstrap. Commonly referred to as type 2, this version is the successor to the US M1 type 1 raised bar helmet chinstrap buckle model. This is the typical model of M1 helmets produced from the year 1944.
