Le ceinturon US M-1926 Belt, Cartridge, Cal. 30. M1923

The M-1923 belt often called “Garand belt” is actually a belt developed on the basis of the M-1917, M-1918 and M-1910 model. Indeed, the older models M-1917, M-1918 and M-1910 are belts intended for the bolt-action rifle M-1903. They can accommodate up to 20 magazine blades for the “dismounted” models and 18 magazine blades for the “mounted” versions.

The belts are adjustable in length thanks to the hook system on the inside. This system undergoes changes over time but remains substantially the same. They can be worn with the M-1928 haversack thanks to the eyelet on the rear adjustment strap visible below.

The M-1917 and M-1918 models used during the First World War are distributed during the Second World War while supplies last. They are declared "Limited Standard" during the year 1941. Quickly replaced by the M-1923 model, almost identical in design and used with the Garand M1. This version takes up the standards of the M-1910 model with its 10 pockets, the tongue internal support and its rear adjustment system.

In order to participate in the war effort, the M-1923 model for Garand M1 is also produced on British soil between 1943 and 1945.
