The M1 helmet of the 39th Infantry Regiment worn by men who landed in North Africa as early as 1942. Its slogan "Anything, Anywhere, Anytime - Bar Nothing" given by Colonel Harry A. "Paddy" Flint became their distinctive insignia worn on helmets and vehicles . The unit took part in the fighting in Italy, then in France, before capturing the first German city in September 1944. This reproduction on a heavy post-war helmet with rear joint is modified with the addition of fixed legs by spot welding.

Original Belgian steel M1 infantry US WW2 helmet shell produced between 1975 and 1990. Rear seam joint and fixed chinstrap loops. Reproduction OD#3 color helmet liner. Repainted in Olive Drab 7, the color used by the US military between 1936 and 1944. The shell has a textured finish thanks to the addition of cork during the painting process.

The paint used on this Battle Battered version is the same as our other helmets. It is an Olive Drab shade used by the US army between 1936 and 1944. The markings of the 39th Infantry Regiment AAA-O are weathered with the shell.

During World War II, the regiment fought as part of the 9th Infantry Division. The 39th's Fighting Falcons became the first American combat unit to step on foreign soil when they stormed the beaches of Algiers in November 1942. During the battles in Sicily and Italy, the regiment came under the command of Colonel Harry A. "Paddy" Flint, who gave the regiment its triple A-Bar Nothing slogan: Anything, Anywhere, Anytime - Bar Nothing. General George Patton declared of Colonel Flint: "Paddy Flint is clearly crazy, but he fights well."
