Restore the authenticity of your paratrooper helmet! Faithful reproduction of the chinstrap specific to the US M2 helmet , corresponding to productions from the beginning of World War II.
- Paratrooper Specificity: Unlike the infantry model, this chin strap is longer and equipped with two chrome snap fasteners at its ends. These snap fasteners are designed to attach to the internal receptacles of the paratrooper version of the helmet liner, ensuring maximum stability during jumps.
- The Type 1 Buckle: It incorporates the famous brass buckle with a raised bar . This detail is accurate for dating your M2 helmet to the early or mid-war period.
- Strap and Materials: The strap is made of thick cotton in OD#3 color (light khaki/sand), the typical shade of equipment delivered to the first airborne divisions (82nd, 101st) before 1944. The adjustment fittings are brass, and the snap buttons are chromed.
- Assembly: Complete chinstrap ready to be sewn onto the fixed (Fixed Bails) or mobile (Swivel Bails) loops of your M2 or M1-C shell.
An essential and highly distinctive element of the M2 helmet, often associated with the image of airborne troops during the Normandy landings (Operation Overlord).
This chin strap is now available in two versions:
- Standard : delivered unfinished, to be fixed yourself onto the loops of your helmet.
- Pre-sewn : already sewn on one side, you just need to pass the chin strap through the loops for quick installation.
A crucial detail for the reconstruction of a helmet from the first airborne units!
