2nd Armored Division patch
Reproduction of the shoulder patch worn by the men of the 2nd Armored Division who played a vital role in Operation Torch, the invasion of Sicily, the liberation of France. The division also took part in the German campaign by breaking the Siegfried Line. From November 1940 to January 1942, this famous unit was commanded by General George Patton.
This reproduction 2nd Armored Division patch is worn on the left shoulder of the uniform, between 1.5cm and 2.5cm from the shoulder seam. Membership of a previous unit could be worn on the right shoulder. Divisional insignia patches were worn by almost all American troops during the Normandy landings. But it was not uncommon to see the uniforms without any division patches as the war progressed.
