Original grenade holder dated 1945 with three compartments manufactured by the firm "GAILEE". Colored OD#7, it can contain three grenades whatever their type. (MKII, Smoke etc). It attaches to the M-1936 belt or the M1 Garand belt using its hook and then held to the thigh with its retaining straps. It bears the US marking on the front side as well as "CARRIER, GRENADE "3" POCKET STOCK No. 74-C-123 GAILEE 1945" on the inner side of the first flap. This late war grenade holder was used by American troops until the Vietnam War.
