About

"Original Austrian steel helmet shell with a rear rim seam and movable chinstrap bales, repainted in matte Olive Drab (OD). The helmet is equipped with a pair of Vietnam-style reproduction parachute OD#7 chinstraps."

The original German liner, reassembled in a Vietnam parachute version, is made of fiber and retains its characteristic features from early models, including the internal suspension, headband, and neckband. The nape strap is dated 1967, and the headband is dated 1966. It comes with its original fabric chinstrap marked 'US'.

A bit of history

In 1960s America, factories restarted production of M1 shells to meet the needs of the Vietnam conflict. Although modernized, the design remained faithful to that of World War II. It featured a more matte paint job and simplified finishes, but still retained the same iconic shape that accompanied a new generation of soldiers into the hostile terrain of Southeast Asia.
