About

The helmet features an original Austrian steel helmet shell, with a rear rim seam and movable chinstrap bales, repainted in matte Olive Drab (OD). It is equipped with a pair of Vietnam-style reproduction OD#7 chinstraps.

The helmet comes with an original US P55 liner, an early version manufactured by the company Firestone, featuring A-washers dated 1975. It includes its original elements, such as the internal suspension, headband, and neckband.

All our helmet shells are made of steel and sourced from military surplus. Some of them are over 50 years old and may show signs of wear and age due to storage. While they are repainted and refurbished, certain traces of their past usage may still be visible.

A bit of history

In 1960s America, factories restarted production of M1 shells to meet the needs of the Vietnam conflict. Although modernized, the design remained faithful to that of World War II. It featured a more matte paint job and simplified finishes, but still retained the same iconic shape that accompanied a new generation of soldiers into the hostile terrain of Southeast Asia.
