Full-face paratrooper helmet inspired by Cpl Don Rinehart's (F/506th PIR, 101st AB). It includes a raised fiberglass underhelmet, mesh and burlap strips. The realistic patina gives it the appearance of a field helmet. Limited edition model from the Battle Battered range.

About

Original Austrian steel US WW2 paratrooper heavy helmet shell produced between 1975 and 1990. Rear hoop joint and movable attachment bridges. The shell has been repainted in matte OD (Olive Drap), a color used by the American army between 1936 and 1944 and equipped with reproductions of OD#3 khaki canvas paratrooper heavy helmet chinstraps. This shell is painted in the colors of NCO Don Rinehart of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division and patinated for an aged and authentic effect.

Surplus liner in compressed fiber of German origin (Wachbataillon). Fully reassembled with sweatband (headband), brown leather chin strap and neck band with green buckle. The liner also has the front eyelet typical of American liners. Modified in Inland paratrooper version with the addition of "A Yokes" in color OD#3 and its leather chin strap.

The liner is one size, it is nevertheless adjustable in depth as well as in head circumference.

Painting “Battle Battered” 506th PIR Cpl Don Rinehart

The paint used on this Battle Battered version is the same as our other helmets. This is an Olive Drab dyed used by the US army between 1936 and 1944. The insignia of the 506th parachute infantry regiment is patinated like the rest of the shell.

Texture “Battle Battered” 506th PIR Cpl Don Rinehart

The texture of the "cork" is crushed and patinated in order to give a worn effect to the helmet. This is an aspect found on the original US M1 helmets.

Chinstrap “Battle Battered” 506th PIR Cpl Don Rinehart

Reproduction of patinated heavy paratrooper helmet chin straps. They are worn and artificially soiled in order to give a worn and aged appearance to this helmet of the 506th PIR of the 101st airborne division.

“Battle Battered” 506th PIR Cpl Don Rinehart

Cpl Don Rinehart (service number 35629220), of Company F, 506th PIR, jumped into Normandy on June 6, 1944 and fought at Carentan. He then took part in Operation Market Garden in Holland. In December 1944, he faced winter and enemy assaults at Bastogne. Wounded during the fighting, he was evacuated from the front. His career reflects the commitment of the paratroopers of the 101st Airborne.
