The US M2 WW2 legendary helmet shell of the American airborne troops. With its legendary silhouette, it is the image of the US paratrooper during World War II and until 1985. This model is the M2 version with its welded D-loops.

About

Shell

The reproduction shell of the M2 paratrooper helmet is an Austrian surplus postwar steel produced between 1975 and 1990. Rear seam and welded D-loops. Reproduction of paratrooper helmet chinstraps in OD#3 color. Repainted in Olive Drab 7, the shade used by the American army between 1936 and 1944. The shell has a granulated coating due to the addition of cork during the painting process.

All of our helmet shells are made of steel and are surplus military equipment. Some are over 50 years old. They may show signs of use and aging due to storage. Although they are repainted and refurbished, some evidence of their past use remains visible.

Painting M2 Paratrooper Shell

This paratrooper helmet shell is painted using a paint based on the color used by the US Army from 1936 to 1944. It has a matte finish and will likely become more dull with time and usage, just like the original helmets.

The M2 shell is coated with a texture known as "cork" to be as close as possible to the original models. This coating helped to break up the soldier's silhouette and limit sun reflections
