Reproduction of the early war type (1941-1943) US M1 helmet chinstrap with its raised bar buckle. Ready to be sewn onto your fixed or swivel bail M1 helmet. This chinstrap for the US M1 helmet will make a nice addition to a representative early war M1 helmet. The strap of the chinstrap is made of thick OD No. 3 (sand) cotton, and the hardware is made of metal. An essential component of the US M1 heavy helmet, although often worn hanging from the back of the helmet or in the camouflage netting.
