The GP or General Purpose bag is a strong canvas bag used by American troops during the Second World War for the transport of ammunition and grenades.
This bag can be carried by hand or on the back using the two M-1910 hooks. But it is more generally seen worn over the shoulder thanks to its carrying strap (Strap, Carrying, Bag, Field OD M1936) supplied with the bag.
