The M1 helmets of American motorized troops during the Vietnam War. Mythical helmet with its typical accessories of the conflict as well as its original Mitchell helmet cover.

Shell & helmet

Steel helmet shell of Belgian origin, with a joint of the rear strapping as well as movable chinstrap attachment points repainted in matt OD (Olive Drap). A reproduction pair of Vietnam type OD#7 chinstrap equips the heavy helmet.

The original US liner "LINER, HELMET, GROUND TROOPS" in fiber manufactured by the firm Firestone with all of its original elements ("internal suspension, "sweat band", neck pad).

Accessories
Various original and reproduction accessories are also attached to the elastic around the heavy helmet.

Note

All our helmet shells are made of steel and come from military surplus. Some of them are over 50 years old. They may show traces of use and age due to storage. Although they are repainted and refurbished, some evidence of their past use remains visible.

Cut

The under helmet is one size, it is nevertheless adjustable in depth as well as in any head.

Shell

The steel helmet shell is of Austrian origin, produced between 1975 and 1990. It features a rear seam and swivel loop chin strap attachments. The helmet is equipped with a reproduction Vietnam-style helmet chin straps in OD#7 color. It has been repainted in Olive Drab 7, a shade used by the American military between 1936 and 1944. The shell lacks a textured finish and remains smooth.

Sold with a fiber liner only

Fiber Liner

The surplus compressed fiber liner is the "Helmet Liner Ground Troops Type 1" manufactured by Consolidated Molded Plastics in 1975. It includes a sweatband and a three-point neckband, Vietnam version, dated 1969.
