Restore your M1 helmet with this complete reproduction of the standard chinstrap from the beginning of World War II (WW2).

  • Historical Model: This chinstrap is faithful to the model used from the introduction of the US M1 helmet in 1941. It is ideal for representing a helmet with fixed loops (Fixed Bails) or swivel loops (Swivel Bails) from the first batches.
  • The Type 1 Buckle: It incorporates the famous brass buckle with a raised bar . This detail is essential for correctly dating your helmet to before the introduction of the flat buckle (Type 2) in late 1943.
  • Webbing and Colour: The webbing is made of thick cotton in colour OD#3 (Olive Drab No. 3), a "sand" or "light khaki" shade typical of equipment made before the change to dark green (OD#7) in 1944.
  • Ready to Use: The chinstrap comes complete, ready to be sewn onto the chinstrap loops of your helmet shell. The end fittings (J-hook and sliding buckles) are made of brass, finished to match the original appearance.

An essential component of the US M1 heavy helmet, this chinstrap was often left unattached, hanging down or hooked at the back for safety reasons or to facilitate the addition of a camouflage net .

This chin strap is now available in two versions:

  • Standard : delivered unfinished, to be fixed yourself onto the loops of your helmet.
  • Pre-sewn : already sewn on one side, you just need to pass the chin strap through the loops for quick installation.
