Vietnam M1956 Magazine Pouch

Original M1956 Universal Small Arms Ammunition Pouch " M1956 Universal Small Arms Ammunition Pouch " designed to accommodate various magazines, such as a folded shoulder strap holding six M1 ammunition clips or two BAR magazines. During the Vietnam War, M16 magazines proved to be too short for the M-1956 magazine carrier, therefore a wedge was often placed at the bottom to raise the magazines. It attaches to the belt using two sliding loops. The hook strap intended to be attached to the harness has been cut. The holster also has two straps on each side for attaching hand grenades.
