FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your questions, our answers

What's the difference between the mesh sizes?

The large mesh net (50 × 50 cm, 5 cm mesh) was cut by American soldiers from large vehicle camouflage nets. The medium mesh net is made of cotton, with mesh of about 1.5 cm. The small mesh net is an original model from military stocks.

Are your helmet nets original?

Our large and medium mesh nets are reproductions faithful to period models. Our small mesh nets come from original military stocks, and some rare models date back to WWII.

Which shade should I choose?

The historical shades are OD3 (light green) and OD7 (dark green). Medium mesh nets also come in brown. For original nets, the shade may vary from batch to batch.

Which units used the small mesh net?

The British-made small mesh net was worn in Normandy by the 9th and 90th Infantry Divisions, the 82nd Airborne Division and the Rangers, then by the 101st Airborne Division in Holland.

Which helmet should I put my net on?

Our helmet nets fit US M1 helmets. Find our shells and complete helmets on the Our steel helmets page.
