US M1 Helmet Chinstrap Kit

Reproduction set of the essential metal hardware for the complete restoration of a US M1 steel helmet chinstrap. This kit is designed to be sewn and fitted onto the cotton strap of your restoration project.

Each kit contains the three metal parts required for one chinstrap:

• One slide buckle (Slide Buckle).
• One end hook (J-Hook).
• One end tip (End Buckle).

This kit is available in two distinct configurations, matching WWII production specifications:

"Early War" configuration: 1941 - late 1943

This set is characterized by the use of solid brass for all parts. The slide buckle is the "Raised Bar" type (Type 1). Finished in oxidation-blackened brass. Ideal for a fixed bail US M1 helmet (Fixed Bails).

"Late War" configuration: 1944 - 1945

This set reflects the simplification and savings in strategic materials. The slide buckle is the "Flat" type (Type 2), generally made of brass or steel. Black finish. Required for authentic M1 helmets from the final years of the war (especially those with Swivel Bails).
