Original USMC "type 3" camouflaged helmet cover with its integrated mosquito net. It was intended to protect soldiers from insect bites in wet areas. The net and its straps being cumbersome in the field, it was often seen cut or folded between the Shell and the under helmet. This helmet cover was observed from 1944 in the Pacific, until the Vietnam War.
