Vietnam “Ace of Spades”

During the Vietnam War, the Point Man was the first man in a patrol, wearing the distinctive steel M1 helmet. His Mitchell cover, mixing green and brown tones, was meant to camouflage him in the dense jungle. This sober but functional equipment embodied the reality of the Vietnam conflict, the helmet symbolising physical protection and adaptation to a hostile environment. The Point Man was thus both a crucial player on the ground and a tangible reflection of the history of the war.
