Full-face paratrooper helmet inspired by Cpl Don Rinehart's (F/506th PIR, 101st AB). It includes a raised fiberglass underhelmet, mesh and burlap strips. The realistic patina gives it the appearance of a field helmet. Limited edition model from the Battle Battered range.

About

Shell

US WW2 paratrooper steel helmet shell of Austrian origin, produced between 1950 and 1990. Rear rim seam and swivel loops. The shell has been repainted in matt OD (Olive Drab), the colour used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944, and fitted with reproduction paratrooper steel helmet chinstraps in khaki OD#3 webbing. This shell is painted in the markings of NCO Don Rinehart of F Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division, and weathered for an aged, authentic look.

Liner Fiber

Surplus compressed-fibre liner of German origin (Wachbataillon). Fully reassembled with headband, brown leather chinstrap and neckband with green buckle. The liner also has the front eyelet typical of American liners. Converted to an Inland paratrooper version with OD#3 A-yokes and a leather chin cup.

Painting “Battle Battered” 506th PIR Cpl Don Rinehart

The paint used on this Battle Battered version is the same as on our other helmets: an Olive Drab shade used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944. The 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment insignia is weathered like the rest of the shell.

Texture “Battle Battered” 506th PIR Cpl Don Rinehart

The "cork" texture has been crushed and weathered to give the helmet a worn look. This is an appearance found on original US M1 helmets.

Chinstrap “Battle Battered” 506th PIR Cpl Don Rinehart

Reproduction weathered paratrooper steel helmet chinstraps. They have been artificially worn and soiled to give this 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division helmet a used, aged look.
