Complete M1-C paratrooper helmet consisting of a post-war shell with patina, painted in the markings of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion.

The ABL fibre liner has been converted to an Inland paratrooper version, with the addition of a fabric chin cup matching the models used during the Second World War. A consistent set combining visual authenticity and historical accuracy, ideal for collecting or reenactment.

About

Shell

M1-C paratrooper steel helmet shell of Austrian origin, produced between 1950 and 1990. Original rim seam at the rear. The loops are swivel loops. The shell has been repainted in matt OD (Olive Drab), the colour used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944, and fitted with reproduction paratrooper steel helmet chinstraps in khaki OD#3 webbing. This shell is painted in the markings of the 508th PIR 3rd Battalion and weathered for an aged, authentic look.

Liner Fiber

The ABL fibre liner has been converted to a paratrooper version with the addition of Inland-type A-yokes and a fabric chin cup. This modification reproduces the features of liners used by airborne units in the late Second World War.

Painting "Battle Battered" 508th PIR 3rd Bn

The paint used on this Battle Battered version is the same as on our other helmets: an Olive Drab shade used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944. The 508th PIR insignia is weathered like the rest of the shell.

Texture "Battle Battered" 508th PIR 3rd Bn

The "cork" texture has been crushed and weathered to give the helmet a worn look. This is an appearance found on original US M1 helmets.

Chinstrap "Battle Battered" 508th PIR 3rd Bn

Reproduction weathered mid-war paratrooper chinstrap. It has been artificially worn and soiled to give this 508th PIR 3rd Battalion helmet a used, aged look.

"Battle Battered" 508th PIR 3rd Bn

The 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 82nd Airborne Division, was committed from 6 June 1944 in the Normandy drops. The men of the 3rd Battalion fought through the night of D-Day, often scattered but determined to hold their positions. Recognisable by their marked helmets, they continued to fight in Operation Market Garden and in the Ardennes. Every paratrooper helmet reflects the history of these elite units, a symbol of the courage and endurance of the American airborne.
