Painting "Battle Battered" 69th Infantry Division

The paint used on this Battle Battered version is the same as on our other helmets: an Olive Drab shade used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944. The 69th Infantry Division insignia is weathered like the rest of the shell.

Texture "Battle Battered" 69th Infantry Division

The "cork" texture has been crushed and weathered to give the helmet a worn look. This is an appearance found on original US M1 helmets.

Chinstrap "Battle Battered" 69th Infantry Division

Reproduction weathered infantry steel helmet chinstraps. They have been artificially worn and soiled to give this 69th Infantry Division helmet a used, aged look

"Battle Battered" 69th Infantry Division

"The Fighting 69th" became the Division's motto after the troops passed their first combat test with flying colours, entering the front lines on 11 February 1945 and quickly smashing through the much-vaunted Westwall, nicknamed the "Siegfried Line" by American and British troops.
