Painting "Battle Battered" Winter Camouflage

The paint used on this Battle Battered version is the same as on our other helmets: an Olive Drab shade used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944. The white camouflage is weathered along with the rest of the shell.

Texture "Battle Battered" Winter Camouflage

The "cork" texture has been crushed and weathered to give the helmet a worn look. This is an appearance found on original US M1 helmets.

Chinstrap "Battle Battered" Winter Camouflage

Reproduction weathered infantry steel helmet chinstraps. They have been artificially worn and soiled to give this white-camouflaged infantry helmet a used, aged look.

"Battle Battered" Winter Camouflage

The winter of 1944 was one of the harshest of the century: temperatures dropped and the Allies bore the full brunt of the cold in the Ardennes forest. The German counter-offensive weighed on the troops' morale, but the lines held. Camouflage was essential in this white, frozen environment.
