The US M2 WW2 legendary helmet shell of the American airborne troops. With its legendary silhouette, it is the image of the US paratrooper during World War II and until 1985. This model is the M2 version with its welded D-loops.

About

US WW2 paratrooper M2 steel helmet shell of Austrian origin, produced between 1950 and 1990. Rear rim seam and fixed D-shaped loops. Reproduction OD#3 steel helmet chinstraps. Repainted in Olive Drab 7, the shade used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944. The shell has a textured finish thanks to cork added during the painting process.

All our helmet shells are made of steel and come from military surplus stock. Some of them are more than 50 years old. They may show signs of use and ageing due to storage. Although they have been repainted and refurbished, some evidence of their past use remains visible.

The liner is one size, but is adjustable in depth and head circumference.

Painting M2 Paratrooper Shell

This paratrooper shell is painted with a paint based on the shade used by the US Army between 1936 and 1944. Matt by nature, it will tend to take on a satin sheen with time and wear, just like original US M1 helmets.

Texture M2 Paratrooper Shell

The shell of the M2 paratrooper steel helmet has a so-called "cork" texture to be as close as possible to period models. This coating helped break up the soldier's silhouette and reduce sun glare.

The paratrooper chinstrap of the M2 steel helmet is a reproduction made by Mon Casque M1 with woven webbing copied from the period model and snaps at the ends. The metal hardware is original post-war military issue.
